The EPBN – WISE Survey is the first European-wide research initiative dedicated to understanding the lived workplace experiences of LGBTIQ+ professionals. As part of our EU-funded project WISE – Workplace Inclusion for a Sustainable Europe, this groundbreaking survey took place in five countries (Austria, Czech Republic, France, Germany and Italy) members of the EPBN – WISE consortium, throughout 2025 and collected over 3,000 responses, with EDGE (Italy), a proud EPBN member, leading its design and implementation.
Through a comprehensive 50-question format, the survey explores key aspects of professional life for LGBTIQ+ individuals, including inclusive language, family recognition, access to opportunity, personal and professional fulfillment, and the impact of microaggressions and the perception of one’s own state of well-being or, conversely, anxiety and work-related stress. This research will provide vital data to address workplace inequalities and help shape better policies for inclusive work environments across Europe.
The findings will be revealed at the EPBN – WISE Awards Ceremony & Conference in Prague in May 2026, marking a significant milestone in our mission to foster evidence-based advocacy, employer accountability, and long-term change. The WISE Survey sets a new benchmark in understanding, and improving, the professional lives of LGBTIQ+ people across Europe.
