Join us for an insightful webinar on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the upcoming AI Act. Led by EPBN Italian member EDGE and its former president Mario di Carlo, this webinar will explore the impact of AI on discrimination and inclusion of LGBTIQ+ people of and the implications of the AI Act.
Artificial intelligence, in its most advanced forms such as machine learning and neural networks and in its most innovative expressions such as generative AI, poses new challenges and opportunities in the field of discrimination and inclusion.
The risk that automated processes and decisions replicate and even amplify discriminatory dynamics, especially in relation to persons with protected characteristics, is common knowledge. It involves different fields of application of artificial intelligence and all protected factors, including sexual orientation, gender identity and sexual characteristics. AI-automated tools can also support inclusion through, for example, sentiment analysis, bias and hate speech detection, or tools to support the needs of specific groups.
EDGE launched a project in 2021 to contribute to the search for technical and governance solutions to deal with such challenge and keep human beings at the centre stage, with our needs and goals, under personal, social and ethical points of view.
As AI technologies continue to evolve and integrate into various aspects of our lives, regulations are crucial to ensure responsible and ethical AI deployment. Mario di Carlo, an accomplished leader in the field of technology policy and regulation, brings his expertise to the forefront of this discussion. With a comprehensive understanding of the complexities surrounding AI governance, Mario will shed light on the key provisions of the AI Act and its potential impact on businesses operating within the European Union, particularly regarding LGBTIQ inclusion at workplaces.
Inclusive workplaces are essential for fostering diversity and driving innovation. The AI Act’s provisions on fairness and non-discrimination hold significant implications for promoting LGBTIQ rights and creating a more inclusive work environment. Mario will delve into these aspects, providing insights into how businesses can leverage AI responsibly to advance LGBTIQ inclusion and diversity initiatives.
Whether you’re a business leader, policymaker, or advocate for LGBTIQ rights, this webinar offers invaluable insights into the evolving landscape of AI governance in Europe and its implications for workplace inclusion.
Don’t miss this opportunity to stay informed and engage in a thought-provoking discussion on the regulation of Artificial Intelligence and its impact on LGBTIQ inclusion.
